Notice 1-7 have nothing to do with pay. Fix the issues within schools, it’s not just about pay. Get strict with discipline and consequences, lower class size, shift funds from central office and c suite staff to school based staff etc.

Let’s just say I worked 29 hours the last two weeks that were unpaid to prepare for the school year… reading over a new curriculum preparing for that new curriculum printing the things that was not provided by the curriculum, but is required by the curriculum… and set up, etc.

Schools want teachers to change because kids have changed. But yet they’re not willing to change class size which IMO would help a lot with student behaviors and learning, and give teachers a better chance at bringing up the students that are behind.

these are boilerplate issues though with the biggest issue not being mentioned that the entire system needs upgraded to incorporate the new technology that we have available to us that doesn't require 7 or 8 hours 5 days a week in a school with an expensive commute and a lot of unproductive time we could cut our class sizes in half if we simply changed the scheduling of the way we do our hours and we can make it personalized so that we're not just socially promoting people and using mastery learning it could also personalize the curriculum and make more specific classes rather than these huge generalized classes that makes class selection a joke
