Just 18 years old, she lured 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer to a secluded area on the University of Tennessee agricultural campus in Knoxville. What followed was a 45-minute torture session driven by jealousy, obsession, and what prosecutors later called “pure evil.” Pike believed Colleen was trying to flirt with her boyfriend, Tadaryl Shipp, who helped plan the attack. Pike and Shipp beat Slemmer, carved a pentagram into her chest, and used a chunk of asphalt to crush her skull. Pike then kept a piece of Slemmer’s skull as a trophy and later bragged about the killing to other students and jail inmates. Investigators said she showed no remorse. In fact, she laughed about it.
