Definitely approaching segregation in the music industry, for working musicians. If the venue is patronized by predominantly yt people, they either will refuse to engage a blk performer or expect them to only play certain genres. I had one place tell me that my “vibe” was unsuitable, after having played music here since high school and performing in Florida at venues like Jannus Live in St. Petersburg. The videos they post show the yt performers playing the same songs I used for my demo. Businesses can hire who they choose, of course…but everyone should be given a fair chance.

It's so true. In STJ we have Fish Bay, Catherineberg, Peter Bay and areas of Chocolate Hole. Now Peter Bay is in National Park and was owned by my neighbor, and she sold some of the land. She kept some for herself and her family, however when she sold the land to the white ppl they tried to force her off her land because she decided to build an old style west indian house and they claim it was bringing down their property value although she secluded herself from them. Good ting her son was an attorney and shut them down. FYI...Peter Bay is after you past Trunk Bay.

I had a couple on my facebook page saying I’m racist because I commented on people from the mainland coming to the Virgin Islands 🇻🇮 trying to privatize the beaches.

Most people don't stop to think that the VI is a melting pot. The true natives were the Tainos and I think there aren't many around. Black, white and Asians are all immigrants.
