Dear Abba, I thought I’d thank you today. But where do I even begin? For the roof you built above our heads. The lights that turned on with a single switch. The fridge that was never empty. The car that took us everywhere be it school, weddings, emergencies, joyrides. The medicines that appeared before the fever even hit. The suits in our closet. The food on our plate. The peace in our home. You gave us everything before we even knew we needed it. And you never once said “look what I did.” You just did it. Quietly. Repeatedly. Lovingly. I didn’t always notice. But today I do. And I just want to say: Thank you. For showing up, every single day. For doing the hard things and never making them feel heavy for us. For being the kind of father I could grow up watching… and be proud of. I love you. And I will for as long as I live Abba.
