If you think Santa Maria is bad you’re privileged. There are so many worse places in the state. Many cities I lived in. SM is 20 minutes from the beach like it’s chill. It’s clean. Lots of palm trees and greenery where I live 😍

Tri tip did start there in about 1980. I spent summer in 81 in pismo and my friend who lived there worked at a grocery store in the meat department. he brought some after work and bbq'd. been hooked on it since.
