Dentist here. I’ve had it done with the laser. Great healing. But you will end up with it halfway up your tooth roots to expose teeth in that space. I’d recommend orthodontic care in conjunction with surgery.

Periodontist here. There is a 0% chance this is strictly a gingivectomy = removal of gums only. There is bone that needs to be contoured - 100% things crown lengthening.

Orthodontist here… this is a life changing makeover surgery. 👏 Hopefully your actually getting esthetic crown lengthening with some bone removal bc this doesn’t look like a gingivectomy alone will last (it can relapse back if bone is not removed and needed). However I also think your upper incisors are over erupted (too low). If after surgery you still think you’re too gummy, I would suggest a consultation with a board certified orthodontist. Good luck!!

I say this with love—Your case is pretty severe. Please go to a periodontist who uses a laser. Vet them. Ask to see their portfolio with before & after pictures.
