every conversation about anti piracy measures annoys me because there's always so many people going "this didn't happen to me when I pirated it", its because they downloaded a better crack of the game that better bypasses the DRM

It happened to me with the legit copy because I couldn’t sign into windows live. 💀 So them actively doing this. Made it nearly impossible to complete. Then they removed windows live from the game with an update which made it better. But man not signed in windows live is what caused this..

except it wasn't a hook, it was a modified version deliberately released as if it were cracked. Piracy detection is functionally non existent.

Hmm, I just finished the game again a few days ago. Gliding is barely a mechanic in the game and you don't particularly need it.

I pirated it back in the day because it wasn’t released in my region at the time. I encountered That problem, but it was fixed with another crack within a week. That was 17 years ago. Later, I purchased the original, but since I was playing on PC, it required me to insert the disc to play. In the end, I ended up playing the pirated version instead, even though I owned the original.

yeah great feature, I paid full price for the GOTY edition and had the gliding glitch that took 2 years to get fixed because every time I submitted a support ticket they would just reply with this automated message really great experience
