I love later seasons cas. Sam and Dean had such an impact on this highly independent angel, giving him people to depend on, giving him a new place to fit in, a place where he truly belonged. They gave him family, something he never had, and after billions of years of watching humanity grow, Cas became part of the humanity he (in my opinion) aspired to be apart of from the beginning.

season 9 cas is what got me to actually watch supernatural. his character development is so important to me, especially because of how much it has to do with his love for dean and humanity and love itself

when they say he was nerfed, I don't think they're referring to his values and beliefs being shaped as he became more familiar with humanity, but to the fact that he was literally nerfed. not just him, but all the angels in general. while I really like the character development Cas had, the way his perspective on things changed to something beautiful, I wish they hadn't taken away so much of the power he had to... to exactly what? hell, even Misha said he hated it
