It’s been many years so maybe the policies of Walmart have changed, but AP-09 required a reason for trespass. That AP associate should have been fired as soon as it was confirmed he failed to get positive identification. This is gross and profiling. Period. The fact that the cop didn’t even ask the guy for identification before apprehending should have been enough. He even had PLENTY of opportunity to verify identity before ever leaving the scene. No Walmart would enforce a non-violent trespass after a year or two UNLESS that person was caught shoplifting again. Walmart will for sure settle this one if they push hard enough, but it never should have happened!

Why did he not ask for an ID earlier? Also the asset recovery officer didn't positively ID before calling 911. I understand because both officers looked alike too. I'll stay away from that Wal-Mart, I'm Asian might get trespassed too!
