Where I’m from oyen Alberta it’s more like 20 acres per cow … had a drought last 7 years .. this year it’s been pretty good it’s like 2 acres per cow

I was told 1000lbs per acre, 10 sheep at a 100lbs or 100 chickens at 10lbs or 1 cow at a 1000lbs, sounds like a good rule of thumb to me

thats honestly an impossible question cause it depends on the land, ive seen land that would support 3-4 cow calf pair an acre, ive also seen land that was like 10 acres per cow calf pair

Where I am, it’s 15 acres minimum for one or more cows up to maybe 10? Not sure exactly but once you go over a certain number then it’s one additional acre per additional cow

FSA, NRCS. They will find out eventually, and if you need any help or assistance they wanna know everything. Which is fine. The ones not telling the truth have ruined it for the honest ones.

that's one of those it depends questions for sure, out west seen some Bankhead Jones land that a cow would starve to death on a section, round here in Missouri 2 1/2 to 3 most places, some less and some more and that can change from year to year depending on the weather.

In northern Michigan the usda is the cow police, herds are inspected/ tested every one electronically tagged , permits to move anywhere
