@floriangadsby: I’ve been photographing some of these today for my next online shop restock, (coming soon). I know I’ve written about this before, but there is just something so sweet about pots this size, still functional yet compact and delicate, enough to fill your palm but not much else.   Despite their simplicity though, these are painful pots to make, not the throwing, but the finicky trimming. Taking care when producing them is an understatement and I don’t think I’ve ever made something that requires such a lot of control, gentle movements yes, as not to crush the object with the turning tools, balanced with enough strength and stability to keep the tiny bowl in place as the dastardly foot-ring is hollowed out. Maybe I’m just being dramatic but I spend an awful lot of time trimming pottery and these have been some of the more challenging shapes thus far.   Now, in terms of the glazes that coat them, it’s the mossy green, which you’ll see at the end, that shows the clay work the best once fired; you can see the straight planes through it and it tends to clump up less, resulting in what I think, is a better finish. This means I now need to test a white version of the same glaze, together with a pale green and dark green that have more of a blue undertone.
