I believe that colonialism worked on us. Capitalism worked on us. S*premac*st behavior has us. Because why else would we lack empathy to someone else’s pain when we know pain. I’ve been seeing quite a few points of view that have my whole jaw on the floor. I am in disbelief. Someone argued me that Malcolm X would never have said to have empathy for them if bl*ck and brown were on the line, however that’s exactly what he did during the civil rights movement. I’m so confused

My support of Palestinians does not take away, and will never takeaway, from my support of Black Lives (in American, Sudan, Congo, Haiti, or anywhere). It also doesn’t take away from my support for LGBTQIA. Empathy doesn’t have a limit. It doesn’t take away from my ability to forgive those that had atrocious takes.

The weaponization of claims of anti-blackness as a defense of genocidal rhetoric is very similar to the ways Israel weaponizes accusations of antisemitism to dismiss their war crimes. It’s meant to absolve those perpetuating harm by framing them as permanent victims, when in reality most people are both victims and perpetrators at different times. Failing to acknowledge this reality only does more harm than good.

the amount of people denying that these videos exist is wild. there were soooo many black creators that I followed for their political and social justice insights. only to be MAJORLY disappointed by these crazy celebrations of genocide. and then gaslit by their followers that the videos didnt exist
