I don't have a problem with my avoidant partner needing the space to think about things. I do have a 'problem' with the fact that he never comes back to the topic and talks to me. The topics remain unresolved until the initial problem comes back up and the whole circus starts again.

Ive been slowly learning that space is okay, I can give him space and he's not just gonna leave. Its really hard but he always loves me so hard after that space and it makes everything better. Its so difficult but it's worth it

no.... i don't want to fix it because im scared you will walk away...I want to fix it because i do not want to sit in it till it feels unresolved and it stays dormant so you start to "fix ' all your problems this way and eventually they explode

I understand space, but at least have the curtesy to inform your partner that you need space and time.. not just dissappear and silent treatment

I really hope the next time we have a conflict we can handle it better. We've talked in more debt and i hope that was what it took to lay a path. I'm also trying to learn that silence and space isn't bad but it's still hard

He’s not healing. I get past trauma but he said “there’s no point in dwelling on something that won’t change” “there’s no hope for me” when i questioned things he said “maybe you made me see better of myself 🙃🙃” and i said “exactly, but you don’t now” And he said “because i don’t care to” so no, he’s not healing, he’s accepting it. We were amazing in the beginning but it was like a flip switched. He had never got mad at me, now he’s always mad at me it seems. I’m trying to figure out what’s going on, he’s now ghosting..

Is it normal for an avoidant to leave you days without talking to you (I’m an anxious attachment)

I am so happy I can wait now. I don’t crash out. Just make yourself busy and wait. No problem at all.

the thing that bothers me about the avoidant - meeting the anxious party’s needs is literally going to trigger the avoidance’s party fear of intimacy, so doing actions with low level of intimacy will never be enough for an attachment style (anxious) that needs intimacy to even be secure in the relationship. it’s just a bit annoying when the feeling of “i’m not enough” gets triggered…because you’re literally are not doing enough or not even doing it at all. I also feel bad because it seems like anxious party is always willing to get hurt or go through whatever they need to go through to make the avoidant feel loved, seen, appreciated…but for the avoidant, it’s always an hesitation, it’s always a choice.

I genuinely had no idea these were a thing and tbh after learning more about them, everything makes much more sense and makes it feel easier to work on myself

this makes so much sense (I'm the anxious). problem is that the avoidant can't / won't accept they are avoidant.
