@erinfshep: 30 minutes today!!!! I was a lot more calm today. I think because I knew what to expect. I thought it was going to take way longer. Proud of my baby 🤍😮💨🫶🏻 #sleeptraining #babysleeptips #momtok #littles #momlife
My daughter was doing so good putting herself to sleep to nap but my doctor suggested the Ferber method I tried it for one night (maybe like 20 minutes to be honest couldn’t do it) and now she completely distrust her crib she screams if I put her in it awake she has to be completely asleep to go in her crib now for naps and is still sleeping with me at night

I feel like I’m on the same boat as you! My baby is turning 9 months in a week. The past two months have been very hard with night time sleep. I feel like I’ve been crying as much as she has been. She doesn’t mind taking her naps in her crib but for some reason at night, she just wants to be in my arms. We tried the Ferber method for four nights but when I saw how traumatizing it was for her, I stopped. I tried modifying like you. Where I’d stay beside her crib, shush her, pat her and do less every day. There are days where it works and she’ll sleep for two hours max in her crib then I’d have to move her to our bed. However, there are nights where she refuses from the get go to stay in the bed. I’ve also started putting her in her crib during the day to play in while I get ready so she can feel safe in it and wouldn’t have a negative association. I’m just worried because she’s already started crawling and moving around and co-sleeping is already scary for me as it is. Now I have to worry about her falling off the bed 😭

I did this when my daughter was around 12m old, it took 3ish weeks but she finally started sleeping through the night and putting herself back to sleep when she would wake in the night. 🙌

We did a super modified Ferber (max 7 mins, will pick up when needed) and it’s worked so well. Less than a week in and he fusses a few sec and out he goes ❤

I'm not a big fan of sleep training BUT if I were to sleep train this is the way I would do it :)
sleep training just isn't for me but my daughter can also connect sleep cycles, sleep long stretches, and *normally* let's me put her down for naps. I think everyone should be mindful of how every baby is different and everyone has different situations. I will still fight against cry it out and feeber but I think this modified chair method is perfectly fine, especially because baby knows that mom is there and around

I saw in another reply that she struggles STAYING asleep and not being able to self soothe! My girl is the same way. When you started this did you go straight into this or would you still rock her for her first sleep cycle? I hope that makes sense. My girl used to put herself to sleep but as soon as she learned to stand up she stopped

Hang in thereee I used this method with my baby at 3months old by day 10 I left the room right when I would lay her down in the crib and I would go soothe here every 5 minutes if she started crying , by week 2 she didn’t need me anymore ❤️

i literally just started getting my 6 month old to sleep in her crib in her own room & we have been co-sleeping since i had her: i really recommend trying her in the crib at night and getting that down before moving to naps…her sleep pressure is higher at night so it will be easier to get the hang of. you’re doing great!❤️
