There is also generational trauma that happens in utero that says if the mother was stressed/anxious during pregnancy the fetus will likely feel that way in life.

I’m convinced he helps me regulate. I can’t be too stressed staring at my baby

I think my daughter gave me her untraumatized nervous system to help mine when I was pregnant tbh. I was escaping DV while pregnant and that baby somehow gave me some shehulk strength

My little one is teaching me to be calm through coregulation. I never knew it was what I needed 💜

Yeah this tracks. I get frustrated in the middle of the night when he doesn’t sleep and he doesn’t go to sleep with me (sometimes) then my husband will take him and he is jaur calm as a cucumber and mt baby goes to sleep immediately 😭

This is crazy but explains so much! My son can literally feel when I’m upset or stressed

When my daughter was first born and in nicu the second time I held her and she was crying and I couldn’t settle her and I started crying and the nurse goes “don’t cry you’ll make it worse” 😅

This is the exact reason why they tell you to walk away if you’ve already met their needs. Your stress is their stress. If you can walk away and calm down, you can come back and calm them. They’ll be okay for a few minutes while you settle

I cried a good amount my oldest daughter is special needs and acted out while I was pregnant and cause a lot of stress, the whole pregnancy I was high risk and then when the baby became high risk I cried so much and when they told me I might need a c section because she was measuring big. But i actually have a really calm baby, I tried to manage my stress and not be as emotional but sometimes my hormones got the best of me.

Yep!!! I agree with this! I used to have a lot of “issues” & after being pregnant never had them again & my daughter definitely calms down immediately when I’m calm

So of course you shouldn’t be letting them ‘cry it out’ but if you need a few minutes to calm yourself down, don’t be afraid to leave them in a safe place. Them crying for just few minutes is always better than letting yourself get frustrated with your baby🩷

i handle things with getting stressed first. my husband (especially when pregnant) will try to tell me to not let it bother me or try not to get to emotional. he definitely brings me back to what is truly important during this time. 🤍
