hi fellow potter when I first started i also had issues with "S" cracks and i was told it was because i had failed to DE STRESS the base. I noticed in this video you didn't de stress the base either, I found the best method for me was after pulling base to width needed (internally) was to flatten with rib or fingers THEN using middle finger form a deepish spiral going from outer wall back into centre of pot , this cut my "S"cracks by about 95 % your still going to get those stubborn pots that want to fail haha, hope this helps

Isaac’s videos were such an eye opener for me many years ago. Throwing the base and adding onto it makes perfect sense… thank you so much for the insight. I will experiment with this also.🍻
