I lived in NJ till I was 15. They’ve consistently remained in the top 5 in the nation for decades. Don’t sleep on NJ education, they don’t play. They do really well.

I left NYC for NJ because of the schools. My kids thrived here. Have family as NJ teachers. The fact that these cuts are happening is just more evidence the new GOP needs everyone uneducated in order to keep winning.

Side note: NJ turned me liberal in college hearing the difference in experiences of student teachers in Trenton compared to those in Trenton. How TAF are kids from Trenton classes supposed to keep up???

Drastic changes need to happen. Since Title 1 funding started trillions of dollars nationwide have been spent. Student academic performance has decreased. The math is not mathing up

Interventionist for Reading and Math ( Title 1). Teacher here 😢 sad for the kids who need these services the most. Our district already cut staff in May/June. After hearing this maybe more cuts to come in August 💔
