But I knew better than to book it… After 90+ countries, this is exactly what I do to save money on every apartment rental I book 👇 🏠First of all…did you know that most hosts list the same place on Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com, and their own website? But the price, fees, and policies can vary a lot! 🤯 👉Here’s what to know before you book: • Platform fees differ – For instance, VRBO charges owners more than Airbnb, so hosts in turn often raise prices there just to be able to make the same amount of money themselves. • Cancellation policies differ - Booking.com usually has more flexible terms like free cancellation or pay-later options, which is amazing for holding a place while leaving your options open (without putting tons of future charges on your credit card today) • Direct booking is often cheaper – If you find the property on the owner’s own site, you both save on fees - and because of that they’ll often offer fantastic discounts • You can ask for discounts - especially for longer stays.
