He is actually a local resident with years of experience flying. His plane had been in the shop and he just had gotten it back a day or two before this happened. Many people don’t know but there is a sandbar out there close to where he crashed and he most likely knew that as well considering he’s a local. I think he did an outstanding job making sure he didn’t hit land and hurt any innocent bystanders!
