Meanwhile 70.8 billion trees would be needed to remove Canada’s annual emissions of 708 Mt CO2, assuming each tree absorbs only 10 kg of CO2 annually. Canada has at least 150 BILLION trees.

Humans create 1% of greenhouse gasses, it's not much but is growing. This can't be good for the environment, this is the reason why we are we are moving to a carbon free way of life. By going overboard with tech such as solar and windfarms to reduce carbon is to claw back what damage has been done already. The timing of this is to change our ways so the future can be better for our kids and their kids. Because this is a planet wide issue, we have to do more to reduce some of what other countries produce because they won't do it themselves. Cleaning the environment can only be a good thing.

In 1960s governments claimed that oil will be completely depleted within 10 years, 1970 it was the ice Age threat that would kill the planet within 10 years, 1980 it was the acid rain, Government claimed was going globally threatened food supplies in 10 years. 1990 it was the ozone depletion scare that would decimate the planet within 10 years. 2000s it was the glaciers were gonna melt, 2010 it was that east and West Coast would be underwater from rising sea levelss. None of these things came true. It is just government fear mongering to scare people into believing that governments can tax global climate control. The only thing that has changed since 1960 you as a citizen get to pay more taxes to fix climate change the fact is is that the governments aren’t interested in trees because you can’t tax trees they’re natural and they’re there and they work and they’re consistent and it would just take minimal taxpayer dollars to replant them. They would rather rip them out of the ground and build expensive wind farms that really have not proven to be very effective in power returns not to mention the hectares of destroy destroyed land to which they are built on with hundreds of tons of concrete and steel to mount them. And to make matters worse, nobody ever talks about where they put decommissioned wind farms when they dismantle these huge components and put them in huge graveyards, where they decompose into the ground with all these man-made chemical materials that they’re made from the fact is that trees are natural they don’t harm the earth and they cost nothing to put in the ground and they do exactly what they’re intended to do scrub the Earth from contaminants. People stop believing that the government is going to tax you into a happier, healthier planet. They are only there to take your money and to tell you that there’s a problem that never existed to begin with.
