@blan.creole: This trend is getting allot of mixed feels. What do you guys think about the trend and our reaction to it. Are we desensitized to Haitian parents trauma? Or do we experienced the effects and are unaware ? @Bri @Brittney Kylie @Elle🧸 #podcast #motivation #motivationalquotes #blackexcellence #haitiancomedy #haitianaffirmation #fyp
I get “yall mom could never” ; good for you but the topic for the moms that actually do this !! If it didn’t happen to you okay but MAJORITY OF Haitians relate

As a first born Haitian daughter, you need to distance yourself from your parents. I can understand giving them grace however, those calls were abuse! Nothing justifies that type of behavior.

I had a near death experience (rear ended on the highway at 70mph bc an inebriated driver stopped in front of us) and was able to walk away with only needing to see a chiropractor for a few months and she told me that I should’ve died for going to NY without her permission (I was away at college on a full-ride)

This trend really shows how deep unhealed trauma runs in our community. Some of y’all still carrying pain from Haiti and passing it to your kids. It’s not normal for your mom or dad to bully you. That’s not love. Break the cycle. Heal.

I completely disagree, I feel like some of these mothers genuinely do not like their daughters. My mother would never speak to me like that and I’ve asked my family and this is completely unfamiliar. I’m sorry for those who experience this but it’s not normal !!!

That’s not their “form of healthy communication” It’s not healthy communication at all. It’s toxicity, hatred, & resentment. Let’s call it for what it is !

I disagree. Not every Haitian mom is like this. You can see the difference between the type of mom who are like that based on their education and class unfortunately. I never experienced that.🤷🏾♀️

The amount of yall saying you’ve never experienced this in the comments is tripping me out so bad because I genuinely thought this was a norm in the culture. 🤧

To some of the commenters saying “my mom would never” that’s good for you! But it doesn’t mean that it’s not a problem in the Haitian community. Be lucky that you’re the exception not the rule.
