Darrell Coleman :
It's not people pleasing until you start fearing rejection for saying, no. True love gives freely and not out of pressure, but peace. If your "yes" is controlled by fear of losing someone, its no longer love, its bondage. You've hit the root of people pleasing which is fear of rejection, not generosity.
Proverbs 29 : 25 (KJV)
"The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe."
Therefore, it starts with understanding boundaries and balance. There is a difference between giving out of love and giving out of pressure and guilt. Even Jesus took time away from the crowd to rest and pray (Mark 1 : 35, Luke 5 : 16). He didn't heal everyone at once. He moved with purpose, nor by people's demands.
Pray for discernment
Say "No" without guilt ("No" is not rejection but redirection.)
Practice self care because you cant pour from an empty cup. Take care of your mind, body, and spirit.
Give from the overflow and not depletion. Give when you're able, not when you're empty. God doesn't require burnout to show love.
Mark 12 : 31
"Love your neighbor as yourself."
2 Corinthians 9 : 7
"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
