Maybe you are not treating him the way how he wants to be treated in the first place , till he understands and hope that you'll notice , that is why he is treating you like that .. Men is not the problem sometimes cus if we love we truly love , but if we did not receive the same treatment, energy , respect, more like it should always goes on your way but not ours too . just think of it . in the first place we treated you how we wanted to be treated too but it turns out we're now treating you base on how you treated us.

They just lack consistency, in the beginning they'll do anything to get you that's why they put efforts and all, but once they have you and they get comfortable of you not leaving them even if they dont do anything to make you special, they won't do the same effort they did to get you. I'm not saying all men don't have any consistency but most of them count.
