I’ve read books that warned me about narcissists and emotional abusers, but they always left me angry at them not wiser about myself. Ego Destruction by Drenn Solace was different. It didn’t offer comfort. It offered confrontation. It made me see how I became the perfect match for manipulation by abandoning my boundaries and silencing my truth. It hurt to read, and that’s why it worked.

Exactly, they even told you not to live in the past…what???…thanks to them I’m not able to stand a lack of accountability anymore from anybody for anything (even the smallest things), no way I can accept anymore. This doesn’t work anymore

Coverts are the worst because they don’t yell and seem more “patient” but still lie, cheat, manipulate, gaslight and still make you question your own reality for them to control you and extract what they want from you. It’s harder to spot and claim ab. use

Yeah this happened often to me. I thought I was going crazy.. did she forget what she did? does she think she did nothing wrong? If you question it, the answer is 'I don't like to dwell on things' or 'aren't you over it yet?' No further communication about the events that happened. And it's true, you're grateful they're not ignoring you anymore and hope the old person is back. It's all a facade.

I just ended a 9 year relationship over this exact thing. Now that I’ve left him, I finally see what he was doing all that time. This was EXACTLY his behavior. People, PLEASE don’t waste your time thinking they will change! They won’t, they can’t! RUN!!
