@addictedtogrowth_: A little analogy like trick that can be great if you struggle with Gambling Addiction like I do. #gamblingaddiction #addiction #compulsive

It’s all about acceptance initially. Throw in the towel completely and admit that gambling is not for you. Once we place the first bet it sets up the compulsion that then leads to the obsession and eventually we end up spiritless again. We all have a fixed false belief that next time it’ll be different. IT NEVER IS

Firstly well done on your recovery journey. For me it’s all about acceptance. Don’t dwell on the past too much. It’s gone and already happened. I don’t think about the money that’s gone. It’s never coming back.

I’m trying hardest to stop. But still write out bets daily to see if it would win. Surely this isn’t good?

Agree with this id say the combination of things could be the market you usually bet on flying in (goals etc) which then leads to fomo, the next trigger could be ….

You're not addicted to gambling, you're addicted to getting your losses back.

Disorderly Borderline :
My fear is that I'll be going through a tough time with my mental illnesses and will be exposed to gambling in an unexpected way. I don't have constant need anymore but I know it's always there threatening to come to the surface and finally succeed in destroying me completely.
