Ukrainians were provided a safe and streamlined route to enter the UK without extensive vetting or questioning. In contrast, Black and Brown people fleeing war-torn countries many of which the UK has had involvement in often face harsh treatment and are not afforded the same compassion or dignity.

it's almost like people used to be able to apply in a consulate in a safe country. get approval before coming to the country safely. the demand for the criminal gangs would drastically reduce and all of a sudden it would stop being profitable in the same way for the gangs. who closed the places people could apply before getting to the country. the right wing government who now complain most about the boats. She is 100% correct Migration through irregular routes makes up only 4% of all migration, but is apparently seen as this massive threat to the stability of our nation and services when as she said we were completely able to accommodate 200,000 Ukrainians (with plans set up to accommodate millions) and they get access to everything that asylum seekers do not, including immediate ability to work.

naive kind person here: shouldn't we be proud of helping people. like shouldn't we celebrate and reward the countries/people that help the most vulnerable people and conversely, villanise those who dont help and hoard wealth.. regardless: imigration is usually a tax positive.
