This just shows the pressure is too much for kids these days. The education system is shocking these days. No wonder so much mental health in children these days

Well they need to do that for the year before! They lost out on so much learning and didn’t get any of that considered in their marking, even though the years before them did … so we just forgetting them now. I know so many kids that got lower than they expected and were left devastated… no one cared that they had lost 2 years of schooling.

Why did this even need to be said? Why couldn’t they just give the grades without reporting this and let the kids have the results. All this does is say ‘well done on your grades but you really got less’. Stop making life harder for these poor kids.

This is the government trying to save face as opposed to looking into reviewing the national curriculum and changing outdated memory tests. Children are still pigeonholed into whether they can perform under exam conditions instead of playing to a child's strengths. Bring back the ability for them to earn marks doing coursework instead of relying heavily on a single days 2 hour paper!!

@Mrs Carbfairy: They always change the grade boundaries depending on the overall performance and how hard the exams were! Easier exams generally have higher grade boundaries! Harder exams for the year, generally have lower grade boundaries! This isn’t new news!!!

This is totally wrong of the government, as they reducing student from foreign countries and universities will not receive founds from foreign students, could be this is the reason they want to increase home student goes to uni and pick up loan, forgetting these students will never be able to pay it back. In every body’s life simple maths and English understanding very important in every day life to survives at least. O level education standard was high compares with today’s standards GEC

This isn’t true 😅 but also these are the kids that would have been impacted still by COVID but it’s the opposite really they’re trying to get them back to pre pandemic levels. Grade boundaries are shifted every year though to match the difficulty of the exams.

This is great news. These children started secondary school during Covid. So many children suffered being able to settle properly and had a hugely affected school experience

these young people missed out on majority of year 6 and year 7. I am a leader of education and if this is true then I would agree with this strategy. These young people should not be disadvantaged by a national pandemic. As long as a scaled scoring system has been used.

This is not true. Grave boundaries are adjusted every year to ensure grave distributions align with pre determined figures.
