Agreed 100% Before audiobooks, I never read a physical book. I am currently at 85 books read in 2025! An audiobook is like a mini movie for my mind...I love it!!!

I do all 3. Books, Kindle and audio. I drive 15-20 hrs a week for work and wouldn’t survive without Audible.

I have low vision so I do audiobooks to not stain my vision. I can get my steps in, do laundry or clean the house while listening. 🎧📚🤎

I listen in my car too. Scientist say that your brain responds to audio books the same as reading.

My dad lost one of his eyes. He was legally blind in his remaining eye due to macular degeneration. Audio books were the only way he could read. He would’ve struggled to learn Braille at 75 plus years old. Plus…. Where are braille books at?? They count as reading.

I used to feel that listening to audio books was not reading…and then I started listening to them and I love listening to books (sometimes more than even reading them)!! There are so many amazing audio books that I would never have thought of picking up the physical book. I usually have 1 audio and 1 physical book going at a time.

And I get to read a lot more because of audiobooks. And when I’ve had a day where I’ve had to be on the computer a lot, I have vision problems even with my glasses on at night. Everyone learns differently as well. There are audio learners, kinesthetic learners, etc. I don’t understand people’s judgement attitudes.

I’ve actually heard that listening to audiobooks is much more beneficial and expand your vocabulary when compared to reading a book. Most people tend to overlook certain words while reading, but you can’t do that while listening.
