This is partially true, but most men are just afraid of rejection; which itself comes less from being told no but rather the feeling of humiliation that comes from someone you’ve put on a pedestal through your own desire turning you away because they don’t desire you. This humiliation is doubly worse when being rejected publicly, like if you approach a girl when she’s with her friends or at a coffee shop where other people can see your approach. This is why social media is so convenient, it removes this risk of humiliation. There’s tons of well-intentioned guys that don’t want to make women uncomfortable, but it’s mostly a very convenient and morally righteous excuse to avoid risking your own humiliation. Everyone would have better time dating if we ditched these patriarchal constructs around dating and courtship, though.
