No one misunderstand chiropractors. The issues those MDs are talking about are the chiropractors giving medical advice that they shouldn't. Like reading X-rays wrong and pushing false health information.

I also think it’s hard when so much of chiropractic representation on social media now are those who are running “wellness clinics,” giving medical advice about medicines like statins/thyroid meds/ diabetes meds etc. and saying that “modern medicine” isn’t getting to the root cause then selling consultation and supplements. It misrepresents the role and scope that most chiropractors practice

I’m a MD and have been to a chiropractor for back pain, and have found it to be helpful. The issue for me comes when someone is practicing outside of their area of expertise. Regardless of what part of the health care profession you are in giving advice or treating people outside of your expertise it’s dangerous. People do it in all fields, but some of the most egregious cases I’ve seen have been from chiropractors unfortunatley. Their action are tarnishing the field.

I’m a DC. I’m also an MD. I have relatives that are DCs as well. The fact is the chiro profession has a very confused branding. We don’t even know what we do or can define our scope. With the same training, some adjust and give exercises and others treat autism based on how they look (a chiro on TT). Endocrine, Neurology, rheumatology-all without training. It’s a complete mismessaging and we have more than our fair share than any other profession.

I’m trying my 3rd Chiro in a month. The first 2 barely gave me time as they run from room to room with multiple patients at a time. I’m looking for one that will spend time w me. I guess the EOBs are so low they have to do assembly line medicine.

Well said!! But some of these people come after us for no reason. And I guess what doesn’t get addressed ….chiropractors who are also certified in functional medicine. I had an additional two years of functional medicine training and a lot of these videos that get slack, these docs also have that additional training.
