I’m surprised to have noticed not one other immigrant has realised the most important lesson here: that all of us seriously need to band together and form groups where we can affirm our identities and protect and look after each other in the face of what is given to us from these people. We aren’t ever going to be fully safe or accepted no matter what we do but we have to get that from somewhere so we need to start big movements and get it from each other. We have to stop being atomised from each other and hope the majority will come to their better senses

the absolute most unhinged part for me as someone who doesn't live in Britain was seeing people from my country who also don't live in Britain defend the riots and when you told them that our immigrants are also getting attacked they'd say "well they should have stayed here then" like have we fully lost our minds??😭

This is why language matters, it creates dehumanisation and race riots
