Can I say I do think I understand wanting the waiters thoughts but my god is it so annoying to be asked what’s your fave in any given establishment. Like i dont know you i dont know what you like 😭 idk to me it’s always been weird and i’ve noticed next to every waiter hates it also

I always point out 3 items all over the menu to give the customer less options to pick, and it’s usually 1 item per category on our menu that I actually like or I see get ordered the most. Then at the end of that I say our most expensive item , which is Fish and Chips, but I let people know that it is a large portion, a huge bed of fries and 10-12 oz of fish. I also recommend people split it between 2 people.

I never go for expensive, I try and go for the popular option: it gives a better tip percentage. if you pay more for an expensive meal you don't like, I won't get as much as if you buy a cheaper, more popular meal you're more likely to like

When I worked in McDonald’s I would always recommend the Big Mac because it was the only one I could think of on the spot 😅 btw, I don’t like the big Mac 😂

i tell them the thing that sells the best for the seafood options, and then my favorite option that isn’t seafood. both are very middle ground price wise cuz i dont care to bring my check total up for the tip, my service is amazing so people tip on that more if im more authentic and not trying to price gouge them
