Hi All, that’s me and my corgi, Pebbles. A friend showed me this video and I did not expect that to be us! Thank you for all your comments. Pebbles was diagnosed with DM and another ultra rare neurological disease called Lafora about two years ago. The chances of the same dog getting both diseases is about 1 in 15 to 30 million. These are non-curable, very slowly debilitating diseases that have brought Pebbles from a super active pup to eventually being fully paralyzed. We’d come to this beach every single day in the Summer and Pebbles would swim far out into the ocean to fetch her stick for hours on end. I’ve never seen another corgi swim as far out as her. Some of you may think it’s time to let her go because you cannot stand the sight of suffering, but I would say she’s happy most of the time. Caring for her has been a full time job for the three of us at home but we believe it’s all worth the effort to see her smile everyday. I had to do this with my doggo Patrick last summer. His rear legs quit working from DM. I had to put him down last November. I miss that little dude!

My dad walked 3/4 of a mile to work every day for probably 20 years. He started driving the day his dog couldn’t walk it with him anymore. I totally get this guy. My dad would’ve done this.
