the crappy part is it doesn't have to happen with the right school structure and resources. I went to a great Montessori school, the few instances of bullying were handled by the students with direction and guidance by the facilitators. Conflict resolution was resolved and students were encouraged to report it to the facilitators who mediated it. When I later went to public school it was a s-show. My middle school told me to 'not be a snitch' when I reported another student being bullied.
