I took my autistic son for college orientation when he started his computer game development course. 20 guys in hoodies hunched over and not making eye contact. He found his herd! I was so happy I almost talked to someone.

my husband's job is to scan jars of dirt using a little robot 12 hours a night 7 days on 7 days off no one goes into his scanning room he is the happiest he's ever been with his job

not autistic but adhd. my welding job boss saw that I used it to take my department's time from 45 minutes for two guys per truck down to 15 minutes and all I said was "I dont want anyone in my bay. no one comes in unless asked. I can do 3 trucks an hour. he said deal and when the operations manager would ignore my rule and come in to "talk" I'd just leave my bay and grind everything to a halt until my boss would come in yelling at him for interrupting me 😂

My boss walked to every one of my coworkers cubicles to introduce the new person. She then pointed across the room to my cubicle in the back corner telling the new person "That's [insert name], he likes to keep to himself but he's cool." I may never have felt more seen or respected in my life
