@ken.arrington: Replying to @Corbin Sheol vs Hell: Why the Bible Tells a Different Story Than You Were Taught - If you want to know what the Bible really says about hell, start with Sheol. Sheol is the Hebrew word used around 65 times in the Old Testament and is often mistranslated as hell. But Sheol isn’t a place of fiery torment. In the Bible, Sheol is the grave, the shadowy realm of the dead, where all souls - righteous or unrighteous - go. Translations like the King James blurred the meaning, translating Sheol as hell 31 times, grave 31 times, and pit 3 times. But most modern Bibles do not use hell for Sheol. Over time, Jewish views evolved. Some scriptures describe Sheol as silent, dark, and unconscious. Others show glimpses of God’s presence even there. Later writings like Daniel and Isaiah hint at resurrection and judgment. Still, Sheol in the Bible never meant the flaming torture chamber many imagine. It’s time to stop reading modern assumptions into ancient texts and start learning what the Bible really says about Sheol and hell. #bibleexplained #biblestudytime #hell #sheol #hades #kenarrington #religiousdeconstruction

Looking forward to these! I've noticed that in the NT, it seems to contrast eternal life with a destruction, death, perishing etc that lasts forever (ie John 3:16), rather than a place of conscious torment. The places that do mention burning torment seem to be symbolic. But taking note of that has really made me question the normative teaching on hell.

So when we read about the lake of fire in revelation we need to understand that this isn’t written by John the beloved because he knew the writ.

Dude, you and Derek Gilbert have helped me in my walk with my faith. Thanks. By the way how do you think those folks you're addressing will handle everything sorted out AFTER the judgement seat.

To this point in time, no man who is alive can know how bad it's actually going to be to have total and complete separation from God. But, there will be crying and gnashing of teeth. To be certain complete separation from God will be more horrific than we can imagine.

Great video man. I believe Baruch or Ezra touch on after life as well. Which does give credit to Sheol and not modern hell interpretations
