@teachyourchildtoswim: It’s not just that puddle jumpers delay swimming— They dramatically increase risk during the exact years when your child is most vulnerable. Why would you give a 2, 3, 4, or 5-year-old free access to water in something that makes them overconfident without real skill? Even if you’re “in the water with them,” we all know you’re not fully present. Not like you would be if they weren’t wearing it. And let’s be real—many of you aren’t even in the water at all. That’s the real problem. If you feel like your child eventually learned to swim using this? Great. But do right by the next generation of parents: Tell them you wish you hadn’t started with it. Because puddle jumpers are being misused. They’re meant for being around water—not in it. Never for swimming on purpose If your child can’t get their face wet, the solution isn’t freedom— it’s getting them underwater. Not through force. Through calm, consistent exposure. Through trust, play, and real progress. We’ll show you exactly how to do it—safely, gently, and effectively. There’s still time this summer to break free from puddle jumpers for good. Join the movement. Turn fear into skill.👇👇👇 @Prepare2Swim Comment Prepare 2 Swim for more details. Thank you! I hate artificial flotation devices for that reason. They are NOT SAFE.

My kid used puddle jumpers for a short time. She was also in swim lessons. She is now 12 and is a year around competition swimmer, scuba diver, free diver, and a mermaid. Granted she was a mermaid when she was in the puddle jumper at 3 years old, too. The ones we used has a life guard certification. BUT!! She was in training the entire time she used them and was done with them by 4 years old.

Common sense say it louder! Done with people being offended by it.

My three year old can swim but she wears one of those when I want to sit on the edge of the pool and not be physically in the water with her all the way or at the water park where there are 100 distractions. She doesn’t prefer them because she likes to dive under the water but they have their place as an extra layer of protection they are just not an alternative to learning to swim.
