I wrote an essay on this last term, on the spectacle of Trumpism. Another great video. I think the most interesting aspect of Trump’s spectacle is the impact on language itself. When language is made a part of the spectacle it becomes aestheticized, thus losing all value. Aestheticized epistemology is what makes challenging the spectacle so hard, you cannot argue against Trump if his own claims make no attempt to function as truth apt statements. Language becomes an image in and of itself. Almost a weird twist on Wittgenstein’s language game, but the spectacle forces all to play Trump’s language game. It is the accumulation by dispossession of language so to speak
