One time I was accused of stealing a bank deposit. Got nasty texts and everything that I better be able to explain myself and they needed me to come in immediately. Got to work, got on my hands and knees to get in the safe, it was pushed to the back. I handed the bank bag to my manager and said “I’m going home”

I ws a mgr once and had 2 employees do this to me after one got put on a PIP and the other was addressed about her insubordination. Made me want to get out of management and never go back.

After months of pushback I’ve finally been able to get my organization to document EVERYTHING, now luckily have a good team, but almost came to the point of body cameras at a dog daycare/boarding facility

That caller seems like a great manager - they’ve rung up and specifically say they don’t know how to manage something, want advice, want to do it properly etc. Managers can’t have all the answers but knowing their limits & asking for help is a great sign!

“HR” accused me of stealing liquor at a bar I was “managing”. Said they had me on camera. I asked-begged- to see it. They refused to show me. They apparently wanted me gone but didn’t want to fire me, so they made me quit.

Dealt with the same situation type, had higher ups tell me, “there is no ill intent” and after months of trying to report finally came to light the lies and ill intent after my coworker was falsely arrested and it became an HR issue.

I used to work for an optometrist who accused me of stealing from the bank bag, a bag I never had anything to do with. He and the other employee and then another girl who worked as needed to do insurance claims are the only ones who had access to it. He approached me and said "are you having financial difficulties right now?" I said excuse me but what kind of question is that and he says "well the deposit was short by a few hundred dollars and I already asked the other employee and she said didnt do it so that really only leaves you" I was floored y'all. I said thanks for assuming that if I was going thru a hard time financially that would just steal a few hundred dollars from my job. I said you know I don't have anything to do with the money bag or the deposits and in the event that I would need to get change for a patient, the other girl gets it for me, the only time I've ever had to do anything with that bag was a couple months after I started and that's bc the other girl had to leave early that day. He says " when I questioned the other girl she also said that you don't have anything to do with the money bag" and I go so she told you that it wasn't her and it wasn't me but you still thought it was ok to assume that it was me and that I was apparently having some financial difficulties? I said you obviously have forgotten that you have another person that comes into this office when no one else is here so maybe ask her. I ended up leaving early bc I was pretty upset and quit a few months later. Sorry for the storybook y'all lol

One thing I hate about working on the fed side is, there is not enough investigation to the constant and false reporting!!! I think it’s bc leadership is not held accountable enough for not keeping proper documentation. So they allow constant reporting and no further investigation after the fact.
