@beingpatientalzheimers: 🧠 At age 70, Greg Nelson received an #Alzheimers #diagnosis after noticing word loss, #confusion, and overwhelming feelings. “One day at a time, that is what has been really important for me…this is the day that we will have a good life.” 📢 Do you have a #JourneyToDiagnosis story to share? We’d love to hear it! Share in the comments or email [email protected]. #BPJourneyToDiagnosis #AlzheimersAwareness #Memory

We do that also. It really helps. My husband was diagnosed in 2017 and is still doing fairly well. We have traveled, see friends and exercise every week. At first we thought it was the end but we found it to just be a new normal. Take care.

Thank you so much for sharing. I’m 66. I’m on meds now. If anyone wants to talk I’m here. This gentleman says it so plainly. I’m going to accept it. Still scared though.

You are very brave in your acceptance. My father had Lewy Body disease, my mother had Alzheimer’s, and I feel like I am waiting for the ax to fall. 70 now.

I’m so sorry for this diagnosis, but your attitude is amazing. My father had Alzheimer’s, and it was very difficult for him. He was very angry about it, and I don’t blame him for that, but acceptance of the diagnosis was not something he could do. As the disease progressed, though, he was very sweet and talked to us more about some memories. Few words but sweet smiles. My four sisters and I fear this diagnosis for ourselves. Our brother passed away from another illness. I’m just planning to live my best life possible.

Good luck with your journey. It’s a good move you made to get medical advice. Thanks for being so vulnerable and transparent in sharing your story. Seems your wife is very loving and supportive. I wish you both the best as you navigate your new and challenging life 🙏❤️🥰

This is very useful. One day at a time. I’m 57 and going down the road of a potential diagnosis of Early onset dementia. I’m losing a lot of words and my memory is going. I often can’t remember what I did in the morning by the time noon rolls around. I expect they will diagnosis me with it.
