I have 13 and 8. It’s pretty dreamy. They are cool people with ideas and personalities that are surprising and maturing. They have big questions and are developing a sense of self and what values they hold. Little kids had a lot care based on the physical - being fed, being supervised, being held etc. bigger kids it’s learning resilience, self regulation, and who they want to be. Pretty cool stuff. But it can be heavy.

I work in kids sports and interact with LOTS of parents of all ages. The consensus is that it gets physically easier but not mentally 🤷♀️

Definitely the hard hitting journalism I am looking for, cuz I have a 1 and 3 year old. The thing is that their concerns are small or limited to only a few areas….but I am actively involved in every way, they aren’t at the point where they are thinking their problems through on their own or even playing on their own yet. So when parents say it gets harder….like how? I can’t even sit down without being crawled on or kicked in th face

This is a bit funny to me because wdym you have 2 or 3 kids that close in age and expect any break from the chaos!! Lol. A wise woman once said to me “Children get bigger but so do their problems.” There’s always going to be challenges at every stage! Enjoy while your babies are so little and cute!! But also some people looovvvee babies and some people just enjoy parenthoood more when their kids are a bit older and that’s okay.

Mine are almost 6 and 8 and it’s gotten SO much easier. I feel like we’re in such a sweet spot. I’m sure it will get hard again, but right now it’s pretty darn great.

6-10 is the BETTER everyone is referring to, 11-14 is the trenches again, 14+ I supposedly amazing but I’m not there yet! (Mine are 6, 11, and 13)

lol at one time I had a 6, 4, 2 and newborn. All born in u see 6 years. Now 13, 11, 9, and 7. I can confirm it GETS WORSE and they are not as cute 😆

It’s always a different hard. After my youngest turned five I felt like I was able to feel more like myself. But school schedules and such is hard. But different hard than toddlers, diapers, and less sleep.

It gets better! Going places is so much easier with big kids! It can be hard in different ways. I miss my kids being little but at 5, 8, 10, 12 they are so fun and we can do so much more!!

My daughter is 13 and I LOVE being a mom. I think having one kid is the life hack because it’s really never been hard over here.

My favorite is when people act like my life is terrible because I don’t have kids yet and simultaneously I could never understand how hard their life is bc they have kids. 😂😂😂
