I always have people ask me why I paint with the wall color first when I do a fun paint project like this that involves painters tape. It’s because if it bleeds under the tape (and it almost always does, regardless of tape brand or type), it’s the color of the wall so you can’t tell. Once it dries and you paint over it with the desired top color and pull the tape, all you see are crisp, clean lines. It takes a little extra time, but it’s better than spending double that touching up all those lines when you’re ready to be done! 😂 Also, HIGHLY RECOMMEND a striped ceiling in a boring transitional space like this. They give the illusion of height and depth, hide the cold air return, and add a dose of … well … fun.
