been telling people I want FFS now and other surgeries (got my letter for insurance, consult soon :3) and they are so against it. ive been out for 10 years too. theres a certain kind of person who "supports" your transition right until you start talking about certain surgeries.

This is so nuanced and you’ve brought a really important point to us. I’m a millennial trans man. I supported trans people before I knew I’m trans, and the transmedical talking points kept me from identifying and seeking HRT for too long. When I said “f it” and chose to be authentic, HRT actually helped me understand the blindness I had to my own dysphoria. I can’t speak to the trans feminine experience. Much love to the dolls

I discovered joy from HRT which fixed soul crushing dysphoria. I enjoy sharing this experience with others who share this. for some reason it's claimed me doing this is invalidating. but at no point did I say "those without hrt *don't count*". I just wish there wasn't cry bullying about it.

I am a woman and I am also a Trans-medicalist. You can hate me all you like, I don't need anyone's approval. I don't care about the opinions of strangers on the Internet, which I'm sure feelings are mutual. The reason gatekeeping has to returned is; there needs to be protections put back in place. Gender Dysphoria is a medical condition it needs to be treated as such. The current revolving door system is disgusting and harmful. With it now being under the social science bases of feelings equals fact. It leads to mis-diagnoses for people who have body dysmorphia, autism with faux gender dysphoria, or those who happen to be gay or lesbian and don't fit traditional gender expressions based on their sex and confused and being lead to think they must be trans. Not to mention the constant egg pushing going on. It's all wreckless abandon all for the sake of inclusivity and a need for community. Yes reported regret rates may be low but, how many go unreported? How many people just stop taking hormones? If someone stops going to their doctor, it's assumed they found a new provider that doesn't get reported as a regret, it gets checked off as no regret. Now for another issue the ideology causes that you people like to pretend doesn't exist and that's trans maxxers, yes they do exist. Incel misogynistic males who think women have it easier orwant to invade women's spaces, by appropriating the trans lable to access dating pools previously unavailable. Taking advantage that progressive women are more willing to drop their guards with them because of the claim of being trans. There have been 3 in the public eye, that have been defended time and time again that their identities are valid when their public displays have been the same as entitled misogynist men. One who SAed their mother with dementia, one who demanded women touch their genitals at a waxing salon, and another who makes inappropriate content around minors and treats women like shit to rage bait. That's just the ones who have been public with their exploits. I know adding anikdots aren't sufficient evidence but I'm still going to let it be known. I have met 3 maxxers in person over the past 11 years.

transmedicslism is a white supremacists, incredibly vain ideology that started in the medical field to further deny nonbinary identities and push transsexuals further into this system of body fascism through surgical intervention. the ideas of pre op and post op are really prevelant in these circles. idk I spent some time on transmed reddit and further I read the more it was clear the ideology is really vain and anti feminist

Isolating someone socially when you can’t even explain why you are is insane behaviour and I’m glad you’re speaking about this! Especially when social support and community are life-saving for trans people. I don’t trust anyone who wilfully accepts ostracising someone socially without understanding the full picture…. because that’s just crazy

I think transmedicalists are right in saying that trans people with dysforia are different than those who dont have it and that those who take hormones are different than those who dont. I think we should have different words for these groups cos someone who doesnt take hormones or doesnt feel dysforia should not be able to say things like hormones not being important. Of course, i dont believe in having to pass through a medical system because most doctors are ignorant to trans healthcare. Also, even if we are different everyone should have the right to express themselves however they want and do whatever they want with their bodies. Trans people should stick together in todays political climate even if we disagree in some things

I've always attributed the shift of transmeds being mostly trans masc to being mostly trans fem was because of the fall of kalvin ghara and the rise in popularity of Blair white as they are the most likely first interaction someone has with the transmed ideals. But I don't disagree, as we live in a misogynistic system, when a concept is seen as bad it will be tied to women and used against women. Now, I don't hate transmeds, I don't agree with them, I think it's a view based exclusively on the experiences of "western world" trans people because of how tightly it holds to a rigid spectrum of gender and the ideas of deserving, penance and cringe. It is also usually goes with the chronically online who doesn't admit they are chronically online because the "other" is never someone who actually exists irl but an idea online (like the vengeance seeking detransitioner, the autogeniphiliac or bimbo presenting trans masc named Kai) that is terrorizing them and their community.
