@orkid.lover: #orkid || my rocket scientist! her story is one of the most fascinating and i hold her so close. she was the first captive born orca at san diego to kandu v and orky II. orky unfortunately passed 3 days after her birth and thats where she gets her name! (orky’s kid) corky who has been unsuccessful with raising calves, the two became extremely close; however, this caused tension between corky and kandu. in 1989, kandu tried to strike corky and failed, leading to her colliding with the pool wall and shattering her upper jaw which led several major arteries to be severed. kandu unfortunately did not make it, but corky stepped up and treated orkid like her own. kasatka was moved to the park in 1990 and all three of them became close. this poor girl has been through a lot but she powers right through it! i love her so so much #orca #orcas #seaworldsandiego #edit #fyp #foryou
