I agree w this bc value isn’t always the ppl planning and figuring out logistics but there’s so many other hats to wear like taking pics or helping girls get ready or even being aux!!

While I understand your point, calling it “value” seems very transactional. What you’re talking about is just being a good friend I think!

Girls should not feel like they have to provide value on a bachelorette?

Prob an unpopular opinion but I enjoyed planning my Bach, and wanted everyone who came to relax and not have to worry about “adding value” - they were all hardworking ppl (some were moms) and we all deserved a relaxing vacation & I wanted them to relax not take on responsibility/have to go buy matching outfits/plan meals etc

If it is too much work then I am not going. I want people to come because they want to celebrate me not to provide value. I want to join other people in their celebration because I am happy not to perform a job 🙏

Idk if I agree w this! I appreciate the thought but a Bach is for the bride and her friends are coming from all walks of life. If the person organizing the Bach wants certain things like cards to pay or breakfast then that should be organized BEFORE the trip even begins. I’ve organized a few baches and I try to make sure everyone is contributing from an emotional POV so they feel included and the bride feels loved ie leading an activity.

Haven’t been on too many girls trips but honestly even if you can’t be of “value,” at least don’t be an inconvenience. No one likes the girl who constantly disagrees/embarasses everyone/complicates things

Your bridesmaids’ “value” is their presence. Also, questionable choice for wording. It’s like you’re choosing to quantify their worth. They are paying for the trip with money and their time. That should be appreciated above all. Most, if not all, activities and food should be pre-planned by the bride and MOH. That’s your responsibility. Your bridesmaids shouldn’t be worrying about whether or not they “performed” well enough, it’s not a job interview. It seems like you’re not appreciating the amount of effort if takes to just attend a bachelorette in the first place!
