My dad has Parkinson's dementia and I'm terrified for when he doesn't know who I am.. My mom had lung cancer that spread everywhere including her brain and she eventually didn't know who I was and it was heartbreaking.

I broke into tears. This is such a special moment. This happened to my mother as well. Her grandmother only remembered her once, and she spent that time telling her that the next time they see each other she might not remember who she is or that the conversation ever happened. She never remembered her again, but moments like these are such a gift.

I am a care aid student at the same time I’m casually worked in a nursing home which I adore all the elderly residents.I was able to give more attention,care and love.its a bit challenge and if you have passion this kind of job you’re definitely understand what they want. I miss my job 🩵as a care aid .

Aww that’s so special. This is why some people with dementia need naps. It helps the brain rejuvenate. My dad with dementia always had a nap between 2-4, it helped

when i went to go visit my grandma she didn’t recognize me at first but at the end she did and she looked at me and gasped and said “you are so beautiful” 🥺

Haven’t seen my grandma since Christmas (she was diagnosed a month before Christmas) and I saw her yesterday and man it sucks 😭 she recognized me when I saw her in the morning but didn’t when I came back 💔

i work at my great grandmas nursing home, im a server but plan to start caregiving. she has sundowning dementia, she remembers me but watching her switch from being “happy helen” (her nickname everyone at the nursing home gave her) to being confused, scared and angry once it hits 4:30 is scary. i know im losing her but she is my best friend and i dread the day she doesn’t remember me.

ive had to say goodbye to my mum becuase family is very toxic. I cant have them around my kids.... my mum doesn't know who I am. hold onto every moment you can.

I hate dementia... my grandpa Don had it and it's the worst feeling in the world (my mom he kept on calling her Roma his wife aka my moms mom and grandma it broke me) 💔
