Brilliant, so controlled, but, there's a recording out there on the web of the LSO playing this, my God, it's almost as if the orchestra has lost its collective mind and a split second from hurling itself off a cliff!!!!!

damn the tension is tense. the scurrying is really scurrying while the center tempo being a real nemesis. the ensuing silence like being out of breath awaiting resumption. excellent musical revelation. almost like tales told around a fire.

Masterful articulation from that snare and the strings 😅 I’d have a hard time with this piece if I had those parts, and I play trumpet, arguably one of the easiest to articulate.
