@carolinecitelli: I know I’m not alone in my feelings about classpass, and reiterating that success isn’t SOLELY tied to classpass but if you love a small business show up for them! We’re always so grateful for the support #SmallBusiness #pilatesstudio #pilates #femalefounded #classpass
Without class pass the classes are too expensive for the average consumer

Pilates is unnecessarily expensive. ClassPass is typically the only way people can afford to go

Some studios charge more then classpass and its cheaper to use classpass I looked into getting a membership and its was way over priced I feel pilates studios over charge per class and membership. 🤷🏻♀️

I feel so guilty for using ClassPass but I genuinely would not be able to afford exercise classes otherwise. I simply do not have the funds. I wish there was a system that benefited both the consumer and the studio

Can you explain how though? I know businesses who use it just for filler spot vs all foot traffic because of this reason.

Can a 4 reformer studio even be profitable? Not trying to be mean but genuine question

The instructors should be getting paid on a revenue split. This would incentivize the instructors to rebook their clients for their next class/session.

Having a 4 reformer studio is insane, that makes zero financial sense.

I feel like class pass makes more sense for studios that have much larger capacities. If you have a room that can fit 35 for a yoga or barre class, it may be beneficial to have 5-10 spots open for CP users if the majority are booking directly through the studio. If there’s a very small capacity for the class (like a reformer class with less than 6 spots) it’s tough to have spaces available on Classpass when you may just make a couple dollars off the CP user. Pilates classes with highly trained instructors should be expensive!

I live laugh love classpass, but I don’t really understand how it works from a business side. I assumed that if I book a class through classpass, then classpass eats the cost difference between the business and what I pay. Is that not how it works?

I always thought of Class Pass as a way to fill empty spots in classes (I’m an instructor & also use it personally) with only 4 reformers I think this would only work if you were using it for classes that never fill all 4 reformers usually. if it’s taking away a spot from a potential full paying client, I could see how that would be a problem. I think this is different with such a small class vs a studio that can hold 30 people, ya know?

for a smaller studio like that i don’t think class pass makes sense for as much as they pay. i would consider adding more membership options, like a 4 or 8/month membership. not everyone has the time/financial commitment for an unlimited membership. plus recurring membership will keep those people coming back vs having to pay for class pack once they run out. class packs can be better for people who travel and don’t have a consistent schedule

A 4 reformer space seems to be more catered to one on one training so I think you need to cater that to a different client

I use ClassPass as a supplemental membership. I go to a studio that is not limited by machines though. It’s just yoga sculpt and while I’ve looked into getting a membership there as well, I can’t afford both reformer Pilates and a yoga membership. I think it does work better for studios that have higher capacity. But I understand why you would remove yours from CP. I see the value in the pricing of Pilates though!
