@hubermanlab: Dr. Melissa Ilardo, professor of biomedical informatics at the University of Utah (@universityofutah), explains how cold water slows heart rate and boost oxygen. #hubermanlab #huberman #andrewhuberman #Science #coldwater
Makes me wonder if the spleen is meant to release oxygenated blood cells gradually, instead of in a rush? Might be a temporary quick fix but is it a sustainable practice?

The spleen is about 0.2 liters, or about 4% the size of total blood volume. Red blood cells are about 40% of blood volume. The spleen would need to be almost entirely red blood cells. Does she provide a citation?

Is this just some random percentage, or does it mean something? What is the point of upping red blood cell count by 10%?

What happens when you get all this extra red blood cells released. It sounds great, but I’m interested what’s happening
