tell the student politely yet firmly that we are going to return to his classroom. If he refuses, call an SRO and take him to your office. contact parents for being out of class and refusing instruction. Now if the right answer is anything less than this, than whats the point of trying to do anything

Something I had in a teacher interview: it’s 2:25. School gets out at 2:30. Student reports a stolen cell phone. What do you do? I still don’t have an amazing answer.

We should have turned around when the student said they had permission. Let’s go get a pass to verify. This either is an early prevention or a coachable moment for the teacher
